Biography:

Dr Tinashe Muromo is a senior lecturer, researcher, mentor, academic leader and consultant. He teaches Research Methods, Health Psychology, Personality, Learning and Behaviour, Behaviour Therapy, and Forensic Psychology in addition to supervising doctoral and masters theses as well as undergraduate dissertations in these and other areas of his research interests. He is a tried and tested leader, administrator and academic who mentored many renowned Psychologists, academics and business executives. He also does a lot of university community service work in partnerships with government, private sector and non-governmental organizations including United Nations Agencies and other international organisations. He offers his services to many Government of Zimbabwe’s ministries and departments and has contributed towards authoring of some government policies, strategic and action plans. He does community intervention research targeting behaviour change through application of Cognitive Behaviour Theory. He also does community work on promotion, awareness-raising and training on children’s rights.

• Reviewer for The Medical Research Council of Zimbabwe
• Reviewed the curriculum and content of modules for the Masters in Social Science in Child Rights and Childhood Studies Programme for Africa University (UNICEF assignment)
• Developed and reviewed several modules for The Institute of Personnel Management Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Open University and has also developed and reviewed manuals on Psychosocial Support
• Evaluated the Postgraduate Diploma in Child Sensitive Social Policies Programme for The Child Sensitive Social Policy Department at The Women’s University in Africa (WUA) following a Programme Cooperation Agreement (PCA) between WUA and UNICEF.
• Chairperson of African Network for the Prevention and Protection Against Child Abuse and Neglect, Zimbabwe chapter (ANPPCAN), a Pan African child rights based organization and The Coalition Against Child Labour In Zimbabwe (CACLAZ).
• Reviewed Education, Training and Awareness for Climate Change in Zimbabwe leading to the co- authoring of Zimbabwe’s Second, Third and Fourth National Climate Change Communication to the UNFCCC
• Carried out National Consultations and co-authored the Cross Cutting Issues section of the Zimbabwe Climate Change Response Strategy
• Cognitive interview design and evaluation of survey instruments for Zimbabwe Population Based HIV Impact Assessment (ZIMPHIA) (CDC and ICAP) in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health and Child Care
