Biography:

Mr. Soko is a seasoned social worker with over 42 years of practical social work experience in different levels of Government’s Social Development Department and as a lecturer since 2019. His expertise covers social policy formulation and implementation, child welfare and protection, social protection for vulnerable people that encompass persons with disabilities, victims of disasters, asylum seekers and refugee populations, Under the portfolio of Commissioner for Refugees and Acting director of social welfare, Mr. Soko has represented the country at various global podiums that include among many, the annual United Nations Commission for Social Development at the UN Headquarters in New York, the annual Geneva Commissioner for Refugees Executive Committee meetings held in Geneva Switzerland. Currently as a lecturer in the University of Zimbabwe, Mr. Soko is actively engaged in Community Outreach and Engagement under Education 5.0, student field work practical supervisions and coaching. Other areas of facilitation at the university cover modules in social welfare policy and practice, child welfare policy and practice, gerontology among others.
